Waking up early is always something I hated, the same thing goes with sleeping earlier, I always felt like I could get more work done by staying up late. Well, after going to bed no later than 11 pm and waking up no later than 6 am I’ve noticed a huge difference in productivity and I feel a lot more energy and refreshed! Here are most of the benefits I’ve been beginning to notice while doing this.
1. I wasn't tired during the day.
Being tired during the day and active at night is one of the most common problems I see between teens and adults, however, waking up early might change that feeling of being groggy and lethargic during the day. Since you’re going to bed earlier and waking up early you’re getting a full 8 hours of sleep, and by doing this every day it sets your sleep cycle up, and your body becomes aware of when it’s time to sleep and when it’s time to wake up. After doing this for a few days, I noticed that I could barely keep my eyes open past 9:30 and I woke up with tons of energy anywhere between 5:45 and 6:15, which were the normal times I was waking up.
2. I was more productive.
Waking up early contributed to being more productive throughout the day, well, at least for me. By the time it was 8:00 am I had already read for 30 minutes, meditated for 10-15 minutes, did my hair, got dressed, brushed my teeth, washed my face and ate breakfast, and I was refreshed and ready to start my day! I also didn’t use my phone until 8:00 because I wanted to give my brain at least 2 hours to recharge and remain relaxed before reading social media and checking my email.
3. The days lasted longer.
Don’t you wish summer lasted forever? Well, it can’t last forever, but you can make the days seem way longer, by waking up earlier, every day seemed to go on and on because I was awake for so much longer during the daytime which made the days seem more longer than if I stayed awake at night.
4. I made fewer mistakes.
When I worked at night every task, I would do seemed to take a lot longer, and I made more mistakes. I also tended to multitask and fail a lot more of the time.
Well, those are all the benefits I’ve noticed so far! Keep in mind though that everyone is different and you may not experience the same benefits. Or you may experience different benefits it all depends I do, however, highly recommend trying it! If you do let me know how it turns out for you :) I’d love to hear about it.
